Support before the Opening of your Restaurant
To ensure the successful development of a new company, groundwork is a must. We will help you build a strong business plan and we will give you the tools required to choose your site, negotiate a lease, help prepare the leasehold improvement plans, and order the equipment you will need.
Training Program
To ensure the good functioning of your operations from the start, we provide 14 days of theoretical and practical training for the franchisees. A team of expert advisers will be available to answer your questions one week before and one week after the opening of your restaurant. You will also be given an Operation Manual that perfectly covers the operating procedures of a Planète Poutine restaurant.
High-Quality Technological Support
You will also benefit from a cutting edge software that will help you operate your restaurant and allow you to keep and view your statistics, and more.

OUR STORY
In 2010, Yves Junior Boissonneault, a restaurateur from Trois-Rivières, had a stroke of genius: he rein vented fast food, while giving it a sophisticated twist! This marked the first page of the history of Planet Poutine
Then in February 23, 2012, the first Planet Poutine restaurant opened its doors at 1373 Hart Street in Trois-Rivières.
On June 14, 2012 less than four months after the opening of the Trois-Rivières´ restaurant, the first franchise was acquired and built on the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montreal. Thus began the master franchisor of Planet Poutine & Co. and the food truck.
In 2015, Planet Poutine & Co. master franchisor operates more than 17 franchises in Quebec and in New Brunswick.
On September 1, 2015, Mr. Yves Boissonneault Jr. sells his shares to a Montreal businessman, Mr. Benoît Charron, in order to reach a cutting-edge status.
Planet Poutine is continually adapting its menu to reflect the changing taste of our clientele, and to follow the most popular food trends. In addition to our traditional restaurants, we are opening Planet Poutine restaurants in shopping centres and along the highways to increase our visibility. Some of our restaurants are also offering the drive-through option to satisfy our hurried customers.
FRANCHISE AGREEMENT
The exact amount of a Planet Poutine & Co. banner depends on the infrastructure, the development and the location of the restaurant.
Franchise fee: $30,000
The total investment for the management of a franchise varies between $95,000 and $175,000, including all applicable taxes.
Size of the premises: between 1500 and 2000 square feet.
At least $25,000 of the franchise fee must be unencumbered (cash or liquid assets) along with the cost of the banner which must also be unencumbered. The remaining amount may be financed by different loan programs offered by the financial institutions; providing of course that the candidate respects the normal borrower requirements.
The cost of a franchise includes:
• The equipment, furnishings, display equipment, and the signage
• Four (4) weeks of training at the Planet Poutine´s training school
• A preopening team from the restaurant will help you open your Planet Poutine franchise during the first two weeks
• The use of all the Planet Poutine company's manuals
• The rights to use the trademark and the trade name
• Support from head office who has a comprehensive industry knowledge
• Your first inventory order
• Uniforms
• A marketing plan of a value of $10,000
• A variety of promotional products at your disposal.
The term of the licensing agreement is normally of 10 years and can be renegotiated for a period reaching another 10 years.
